Interstellar Overdrive - Song Lyrics 1986

Interstellar overdrive
Interstellar baby
Keep my soul alive
Interstellar
Go a million miles an hour
We got the power of love
We'll ride for hours in my

Interstellar overdrive
Interstellar baby
Keep your soul alive
See the stars
They're shining just for you
We got the power of love
We got the do do do do do...

Hey Glenn, I love this one and I would like to hear some of your stuff also. What do you play? I just posted a few of my songs. 8^D
What's the groove on this one? I picture something slightly psychedelic in my mind. What's the name of your band? OK enough questions, sorry ;^).

Bye,

Bob

Hi Bob, well we were called variously, The Hope Children(umm THC), Silver Dream Rocket, and for most time Weta-A-Gogo which varied from 3 - 9 piece. I played Bass and shared vocals. Now I prefer to play with my Roland Groovebox, but still dabble with Bass and sometimes accoustic guitar.
The Groove on this one mainly ADADADAD then C then some variant on D I think, with a psychedelic interlude and a verse of do do do do dooohs thrown in. we're talking about 20 years ago! - tho it is like riding a bike, and my friends and I still jam some of this stuff and new stuff.. maybe even tonight;-)
We were rough as anything but had a ball playing.
Whats the location of your material?

Leigh , actually I'd love to put some music behind you reading some of your poems - I've done a fair bit with Ian and its quite often good..the groovebox can lay down beats at any rate and then vast amounts of instruments and effects are available.

Hey I love those band names and would love to hear anything recorded. There are links to mp3 files in the right sidebar of my blog. All the lead work is by Matt. That was when I was strictly a writer, never performed out. I was hoping for a staff writer position in NYC but just couldn't take the BS. Now that I play for fun it's much more rewarding.

Jam On!

Bob

Hi Bob, I've had a listen to your songs. They remind me a lot of The Eagles . Although the quality was great I have to admit they're not really to my taste at all (nothing personal).Free will is closest, and Your Own Way I can listen to, but Perfect Couple is difficult for me to listen to. I have always been one of those people who listen more to music (especially alternative from 60s on thru), and never one who really liked words - More of a LouReed/Velvets freak and not a Dylan one. I am sure you'd be more than welcome at many a party round here.I was expecting to hear you knock out a couple of your humorous ditties as man alone with guitar, so I was very surprised to hear full blown treatments!
I'll have a look around and see if I can find some web space and mp3 versions of our garage basement type stuff so you can hear (and probably hate) us. I suspect from the tracks you put up that you tried to show some range in your styles etc. Thank you very much for putting them up. Hey, and I dont love you any the less:-)

Well as you surmised those 3 were recorded to show the variety of styles I can write. Perfect Couple was originally just me on acoustic but the guy that produced it (and btw performed every single sound on that song) was quite gifted and just went all out on it. My stuff is more rocking but definitely commercial in nature, hooky tripe ya know 8^P. Don't assume I won't like your stuff, I am quite open minded, especially about music. When I get some other songs done I'll let you know. Thanks for checking it out!!

Hey yeah sorry about that , I shouldn't assume anything about anyones tastes...mine are well varied as well, and what we play barely scratches the surface of what I listen to. Look forward to hearing some more hooky tripe :-)
